A CanSat is a miniature satellite the size of a soda can (66mm diameter, 115mm height). It is launched by rocket or balloon to an altitude of about 1km, then descends by parachute while collecting sensor data (temperature, pressure, humidity, UV, GPS). CDOSR has won the Romanian CanSat championship 3 times (2019, 2021, 2024).

Exo-RO is Romania's national space rover championship, organized by ESERO Romania. Teams build remote-controlled rovers that navigate terrain, collect samples with robotic arms, and perform scientific measurements. CDOSR won the Exo-RO championship in 2018 and 2021.

AstroPi is an ESA education program where students write Python code that runs on Raspberry Pi computers aboard the International Space Station. CDOSR teams participated for 5 consecutive years (2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023). Team member Elisa E. won the Highly Commended award twice.

CDOSR has won 6 national titles (3x CanSat Best CanSat, 2x Exo-RO Best Rover, Qube2Space 2nd place), 3 Highest Technical Achievement awards, and represented Romania twice at the ESA European CanSat Finals (Bologna 2019, virtual 2021).
